When it comes to your restaurant table tops there are a huge variety of choices one can make. Table top design and size are two things that need considerable thought and planning. Ultimately it comes down to preference and what will go along with the atmosphere you are trying to create.
If you are going with the modern contemporary feel, perhaps stainless steel tops or a distressed copper look would compliment your theme. New modern tops are quite the fad right now, try a different shape, square, rectangle, something odd that creates interest.
If you a traditionalist, round tables, wooden tops, traditional square will do just fine. There are many varieties of finishes to suit all styles, so it’s just a matter of taste.
One major thing to consider is table size, what is going to fit your space in an aesthetic and functional way. You don’t want to jam huge tables into a small space, or vice versa, you don’t want a table surface that is too small, giving customers a poor eating experience. There is nothing worse than not having enough space for your food when eating out. You want to ensure that your customers have enough space for their plates, cups, utensils and thensome. Perhaps a round table that collapses down to a smaller square is something to consider, that way if need be the table can be easily expanded or collapsed. This might also be a more economical table top option, in essence you are getting two tables in one.
A negative dining experience in any aspect can cause customers to never return, and that is why exercise extreme caution and put lots of thought into your table top design.
