4 Things to Consider When Choosing a Restaurant Table Layout

March 7th, 2008 · 1 Comment

When you’re getting ready to layout your restaurant tables, you’re going to want to know a few things. You’re going to want to have an understanding of your menu and who your customers will be, and you’re going to need to have a sense of the space that you have to work with.

Beyond that, however, what do you need to keep in mind? Here are a few things:

  1. Choosing your restaurant table layout should happen in such a way as to make it easy to divide tables between servers. If you have two servers on, you’ll need to be able to create an even division of the tables between them.
  2. Your restaurant table layout should make it easy to serve your customers.
  3. Your restaurant table layout is going to depend a lot on the style of restaurant tables that you have decided to use. Round tables can be set up with more staggering - at least in many cases - than square or rectangular tables.
  4. Choosing your restaurant table layout is all about using your space well; you may want to consider a number of options before settline on the layout that you go with.

Choosing your restaurant table layout doesn’t need to be difficult and it doesn’t need to drain all of your time. In part it’s a matter of convenience and space and in part it’s a matter of preference. Fortunately, there’s an added benefit too: you can always change it if need be.
