Restaurant tables are one of those big ticket items that can make or break your restaurant. Whilst the food your serve should be the main focus of your customers’ attention, how and where they eat that food will have a huge impact on how much they enjoy your food. You need to ensure your restaurant tables design doesn’t detract from that experience. Follow our good guide to restaurant tables design for peace of mind.
Plan
It may sound obvious, however, most people don’t plan and some of those that do don’t plan properly. Follow these steps and think each through carefully to ensure you are buying restaurant tables whose design matches your restaurants needs.
Materials
Select materials that will fit in with your restaurant’s theme. For example, a Mexican restaurant may want to consider painted tiles, mosaics or custom designed table tops. Old world style restaurants may want to consider dark stained timbers with table cloths.
Durability
Ensure your tables are either produced for commercial use or have been treated to waterproof them. Remember, your tables will need to withstand hot and cold dinnerware, spills, and the frequent cleaning that goes with running a restaurant.
Reputation
Only buy from manufacturers and suppliers that have a good reputation for providing quality products. Warranties are always handy to have but the best warranties are useless if the manufacturer has closed its doors.
Compatibility
You would be surprised to know how many restaurants fail to think this through. They buy a table that is one height and chairs that fail to match the tables’ height. Others buy table tops but select the wrong table bases. Wherever possible, follow the manufacturer’s recommendations.
Quantity
Order the maximum quantity that you can afford. You may be able to score a discount for a large order. If your budget allows for it, order at least one extra setting (tables and chairs) to cover you for any breakages or emergency seatings.
Although very basic, if you follow that guide logically with careful thought to each measure, you will find the end results are worth the effort. Your restaurant tables design will impact on your customers - get it right and the impact will be positive.
