Restaurant Tables Design - What Gives A Glass-Like Finish, But Isn’t Glass?

October 8th, 2009 · No Comments

Glass tables have been popular for over ten years - in the home. It has not been as popular when it comes to restaurant tables design, probably because glass tends to break and can cause quite severe injuries. There is, however, one material that gives a glass-like finish yet isn’t glass. That material is granite.

granite table topsGranite is cut into rounds or squares and polished until it is as smooth and shiny as a sheet of glass. Cut and polished has all the benefits of glass - plus some. Of course, granite will still break if it is mistreated, however, it is not quite as dangerous as glass. Polished granite doesn’t show up stains and smudges like finger prints to the same extent as glass either.

When used at a restaurant table, polished granite is mounted onto a timber base. This mean it can be attached to a pedestal base with ease. Being made in two parts, (table top and base), granite tables are easy to store when not in use and easy to reassemble when required.

Polished granite table tops weather reasonably well so they can also be used in outdoor restaurants. Granite is easy to clean and can be kept clean using mild detergent and warm water. Granite table tops are available in gold, brule and duet.

If you are looking for a restaurant tables design that is a little different, check out cut and polished granite restaurant table tops. They look good and add a little rustic feel to your restaurant.
