Restaurant Tables Design - Bases For All Occasions

September 14th, 2009 · No Comments

There is a growing trend where restaurant tables design break into two components, the table top and the table base. With a reliance on table cloths in many restaurants, it is the table base that is getting the most design attention. Let’s face it, if the table top is covered by a table cloth, who is going to see it?

table bases for all occasionsTable bases are now available in a variety of finishes with materials ranging from the traditional timber through to aluminum and metal. You can find many table bases that are constructed from a combination of metals or metal and timber.

You can select from some very ornate old fashioned table bases or from trendy bright and shiny gold or silver models. The table base shown in the photo is available in 12 different powder coat finishes.

When selecting a table base, there is one important consideration. Size - it does count. You need to ensure the table base and the table top are compatible. This is generally a measure of the table supports and the size of the base where it rests on the floor. If it is too small, the table will easily tip over. Table bases are generally backward compatible meaning they will happily take smaller table tops.

Restaurant tables design is definitely moving towards separate table tops and table bases. For restaurant owners, this could be a blessing as it would broaden the range of restaurant tables available. Better yet, having a separate top to the base means you can really customize the look and feel of your restaurant. Restaurant furniture is important to the success of your business - getting it right may not increase your turnover, however, getting it wrong could kill your business!
