Your restaurant tables design can include table top finishes & upholstery from a wide variety of materials. When selecting tables, that finish can be highly important to the overall look of your restaurant. Are you going to go with a glass top or stick to natural timber? You could use a tablecloth or go for a vinyl or laminate. With that then comes the finished look to your chairs.
Wood finishes have been popular for decades providing a good clean surface that is fairly easy to maintain. The advantage of natural wood finishes are their ability to blend into most decors with little in the way of extras.
Glass finishes had their day in the early nineties and whilst very easy to clean, can suffer breakages when tables get tipped over or very hot materials are placed on them. It doesn’t happen all that often but I have seen a diner served with a steak sizzling still in the pan and the effect on the glass top was - let’s say interesting. Glass does have the advantage of allowing the natural timber finish to show through whilst protecting it from scratches and marks.
Laminates come in a wide variety of finishes. The ‘kitchen’ look laminates are very sixties and suited more to cafes. However, restaurants that provide booth seating often find that laminates work well. Booth seating is considered less formal and the laminate finish on a table that give that ‘home’ feel about the restaurant.
One of the more popular laminates used in restaurant tables design are those that imitate timber finishes. These timber finishes look good, particularly from a distance, however, as with most laminates, they still have a distinct laminate touch and feel to them.
Selecting the finish for your restaurant tables design can be important to the overall look and feel to your restaurant. Of course, if you go to the trouble of adding tablecloths then you may feel differently - don’t be fooled. Patrons still know what is under the tablecloth.
