Restaurant Furniture Tips For Sidewalk Restaurants

August 9th, 2009 · No Comments

Sidewalk restaurants are very popular in the warmer months and for many areas, that can be up to nine months of the year. Even in the middle of winter, there are some areas where sidewalk restaurants still do a great trade during the day. Here are a few restaurant furniture tips to consider for your sidewalk restaurant.

Weather resistant

Being outdoors, your furniture needs to be weather resistant. This goes beyond just waterproofing. Your furniture should also have a high UV protection factor otherwise it will either fade quickly or, if made of a plastic material, become very brittle quite quickly.

Portability

Outdoor restaurant furniture needs to be light-weight so that it can be quickly stored in the event of storms or severe weather. Many areas that are warm in the evening are often also prone to storms. Light-weight, foldable or stackable restaurant furniture means you can quickly clear the sidewalk when necessary - either that or be prepared to collect your furniture from the next county.

Comfort

Although outdoors, light-weight, foldable and weatherproof - your outdoor restaurant furniture still has to be comfortable and easy to use. If it is too light-weight it may collapse as soon as any pressure is applied. Keep it comfortable whilst keeping it practical is the hardest task.

Outdoor restaurant furniture is completely different to that used indoors. There are many more factors to consider and the commercial range available is nowhere near as extensive as that available for indoor use. However, if you look around you will find a range of outdoor/patio furniture that will suit your sidewalk restaurant.
