When you start to think about what you’re going to do with your restaurant furniture layout, it’s important to consider that, realistically, the layout that you choose in the seating area of your restaurant is just as important as the way that you layout the kitchen for the behind the scenes staff. In other words, just as you wouldn’t want to focus on disrupting the flow in the kitchen - and doing anything that would make it take even longer for meals to be prepped - you’re going to want to be able to know that you’re creating a flow where the customers are.
You’re going to want to know that:
- It’s going to be easy for your customers to get from one area to another - whether it’s from the host station to the tables or the tables to the restroom or salad bar.
- Your staff aren’t going to have to fight to get from one place to another in order to serve the customers or to answer questions.
There are going to be other restaurant furniture layout considerations that you will need to make as well - things like, if you’re having a bar and restaurant, whether or not your customers are going to be able to get to the area where they will be seated, and whether the areas will be clearly divided. Still, the more that you are able to look at your restaurant furniture options and to focus on making the best use of your space, the more smoothly that things will continue to go.
