Restaurant Furniture Layout: Making Your Customers Comfortable

March 6th, 2008 · 2 Comments

There is an essential balance when it come to choosing your restaurant furniture layout. While you need to be sure that you have as many seats for your customers as you need, it’s important to know that you’re giving people space. While you want to be sure that you’re giving diners the room that they need in order to feel comfortable, you don’t want them leaving the restaurant and thinking "it was so sparse." After all, too "un-crowded" isn’t good either.

That’s why finding the right balance is as important to your restaurant furniture as it is to the portion sizes of your menu items: you want everyone to feel like they are getting enough and that you’re not short-changing them in any way, but you don’t want to daunt them by putting too much out there.

To make your customers comfortable, you’ll find that the best things that you can do involve thinking it out. Maybe a combination of booths and chairs will help you; maybe it would be better to use some barstools and high tables to give the illusion of more space - at least between the floor and ceiling. Look at a variety of restaurant furniture layouts before you make your final choice: that way, you can be sure that there is nothing that you have not taken into consideration.
