When you’ve been in the restaurant business for a period of time, there can be a point at which you start wondering if the way that you’ve always done things is the best way to do them. In some cases, that’s going to mean that you change the menu; in others, the difference will look more like a total overhaul - complete with a new restaurant furniture layout for the space.
That’s what’s happening in one restaurant in Indiana - after 10 years, the owners decided to change the decor, the restaurant furniture layout and even the name and menu. In that particular case, the owner decided to cut a lot of the bar food, reduce the size of the bar, add an area with TVs and larger tables for sports fans who came in for a bite to eat and the chance to watch games, and to make some other restaurant layout changes as well.
When you make the choice to shake things up at your restaurant, you might not be looking into changing everything about your restaurant - but what you will find is that there’s a lot that can be done simply by changing your restaurant furniture layout.
If you want to appeal more to families, think about the ways in which they’ve had to adapt to your furniture, and then think about what you can do to accommodate their needs. If you want to be a place where larger groups go, make sure that your restaurant furniture and the layout that you choose will give them the space they need.
In other words, if you’re looking to re-invent your restaurant and you want to change the way that your customers see and use the space, think about your customers, their needs and what may have been missing and then plan your new restaurant furniture layout.
