Matching Restaurant Furniture Layout With Purpose

January 29th, 2009 · 1 Comment

One of the things that you are going to find when you start to look into your restaurant furniture layout options is the way that you anticipate that your customers are going to use the space. After all, if you’re planning to have a bar area, dining area and, say room for darts or a pool table, you are going to need to approach things differently than you would if you had the same space and were only planning a restaurant.

While the reviewer commented on the volume created by the layout, the following is a good example of matching your restaurant furniture layout with the way that your restaurant will be use:

(source)The restaurant has something of a shotgun layout. A small, enclosed front patio that can be opened in the spring leads to the long, narrow main dining room that has a 20-seat wooden bar on one side and a curved, wooden bench seat fronted by bistro tables all the way down the opposite wall. The floor is the original terrazzo. The bar and bench were designed by Mark Hawley.

The second level includes a wood-floor dining area that features an eight-seat corner table, a tiny private room and a game room with two pool tables, a dart alley, and video games.

Ultimately, just reading the review seems to indicate that there would be issues with volume, but at the same point in time, it does seem as though the restaurant furniture layout chosen would be an effective one. You need to be sure that, when you are exploring your restaurant furniture layout options, you are going to be able to use the space appropriately so that you can reach all of your goals.
