Restaurant Furniture Design Helps to Create the Mood

January 10th, 2008 · No Comments

When you’re choosing restaurant furniture for your dining room focus on the mood and atmosphere that you want to create: your customers will notice, and it can make a huge difference when it comes to your success.

Take this example from The Cincinnati Enquirer:

Most successful fantasy design: The Pub. Many of the chain restaurants at Crestview Hills are elaborately designed to look like something else. The Pub’s full-on Victorian bar, lighting, little nooks and furniture is the best stage set.

You may not be trying to re-create a particular scene with the restaurant furniture that you choose - in other words, you may not be striving to create a room that is theater set ready - but that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t try to capture an appropriate look.

Patio furniture isn’t going to be ideal for an interior dining room. Likewise, upholstered wooden chairs aren’t going to look or feel right on the patio. Paying attention to these details can help to ensure that your restaurant is comfortable for your guests - and that, if they notice the furniture, it’s because it’s left a great impression.
