Although most restaurants run to a tight budget, having sufficient seating in your restaurant chairs layout is a must and the last thing you need is to find a problem with your shipment. There are several things you can do as a restaurant owner that will ensure you’re not caught short on your opening night.
Your first step is to ensure you buy your restaurant seating from a reputable business. They have their own reputation to consider so they will do everything possible to ensure you receive your furniture as ordered. However, problems do arise occasionally, even for the best of businesses.
Your order may be short by a chair or two - not a big deal normally. However, if you have a full house on opening night, those one or two chairs could mean a lot. At least by dealing with a reputable business they will try to rectify any problems quickly.
The second step that I would recommend is to slightly over order. If you are too cautious, you are going to find yourself caught short very quickly. Chairs, even the sturdiest, do get damaged. If you don’t have a small reserve of chairs then you won’t have enough to service all tables. Of course, you could always withdraw a table, but that means reducing the number of diners at any one time with a consequent loss of income and profit.
Instead of being overly cautious, always have at least one setting in reserve. This should be a table and the appropriate number of chairs. I suggest a four person setting. This should be sufficient to cover any temporary shortfalls until you can purchase replacements.
Your restaurant chairs layout needs careful planning, but rather than being overly cautious, add an extra setting to ensure you are always covered when breakages occur.
