When buying restaurant furniture, sometimes a little forward thinking can help to prevent problems with your restaurant chairs layout. Round tables are popular, with sizes often incrementing by just a few inches. Does that extra six inches make any difference? When it comes to your table layouts, probably not. When it comes to chair layout - it could make a big difference.
It is important to check the seating capacity of a table. One size may suggest 3-4 whilst, for an extra six inches, you can have a table that seats 4-5. Most restaurants cater for couples. Occasionally, you have threesomes or foursomes. Very occasionally, you may require a table for five.
A table for five is always the sticking point and can cost you customers. With a party of six or seven you can justify pushing two tables together or at least moving them much closer. A party of five can mean you are using up the space for a table of four for the sake of one extra person. On a busy night, that is one less table being used by patrons.
If you purchase one or two of the slightly larger tables, the tables that comfortably seat 4-5 diners, you have all bases covered. You only have to find one extra seat and that is isn’t difficult if you have two people sitting at a 3-4 seat table. I have mentioned several time how flexibility is an important consideration when it comes to restaurant furniture - this just reinforces that view.
To make your restaurant chairs layout easier to manage, try buying tables in a variety of sizes rather than sticking to the one size. That variety can help you out when space is at a premium and you need to accommodate and extra diner here and there.
