One of the hardest things to get right in a restaurant is the restaurant chairs layout. No matter how you design that layout, someone is going to find fault. In the long run, there is only one group of critics that you should listen to - and hopefully they will be your toughest critics.
Most restaurants don’t get a print review - in fact, they seem to be dying out in many areas so a restaurant critics opinion of your layout is not going to be an issue. If you do happen to get a restaurant review in the print media, chances are that most people won’t read it. If the critique is negative then, in reality, it’s too late to make changes.
There are of course your diners. They are the most important people on the planet when it comes to making a profit or loss. If your diners are not happy with your restaurant chairs layout then there is a real chance they won’t come back. No customers, no turnover and no profit. However, your diners are a little like the restaurant critic - if they are not comfortable they will vote with their feet. It is no good changing your furniture around after the event.
No, your toughest critics are the people who have to deal with your diners, deal with your furniture and deal with you - your wait staff. They will know very quickly what is and is not working. They overhear what diners are saying. They are the group that spend the day negotiating their way around your furniture.
The biggest mistake any restaurant owner can make is to ignore what their wait staff are saying. They may not have the solutions but they can certainly report back on what they hear and what they experience. Your restaurant chairs layout is an important issue in any restaurant - your wait staff are the people who are best placed to advise on how well your layout is working - take heed and let them be your toughest critics.
