Opening a restaurant is a process that’s absolutely filled with excitement (with a bit of chaos and stress thrown into the mix, of course). There’s the time that you’ll spend talking with different chefs, planning out a menu (and getting that menu printed to match the feel and vibe of the place). Then there’s that one thing that is absolutely essential: laying out the tables and chairs in your restaurant.
You’ll of course want to think about the style of your restaurant - casual dining is going to mean looking at far different furniture than formal dining rooms where guests will sit down for a number of different courses. You’ll want to choose the right materials as well: if you are putting together a diner or say a 50s themed restaurant, you’ll want to look at vinyl chairpads - something that is easy to clean up. A more formal dining room, on the other hand, will mean choosing chairs that are upholstered with fabric or that are not upholstered at all. There are classical looks, modern looks and different sizes to consider as well.
However, even before you get to a point of choosing the chairs that you will use in your restaurant, you’ll want to consider the layout of the dining area. Rounded tables may not be a great match for armed chairs; long tables may call for armed chairs at the head and foot of the table with a similarly styled side chair used along the sides. You’ll want to consider the space that you have, the tables you’re using and far more.
