When it comes to restaurant chairs design, a wood and metal combination certainly makes for a long lasting and hard wearing option. With metal legs and framework providing the strength, the wooden seats and backs provide the comfort.
There is a misconception sometimes about wood and metal. They are not the rigid uncomfortable chairs that you may imagine. Just because the seat (or back) are made from wood doesn’t mean they can’t be padded and covered with a fabric (often of your choice). Being rigid, they are often more comfortable than some of their plastic counterparts. Sit on one of them and you can feel them spread to take the load - not so the metal - when you sit on one of them they feel perfectly stable.
Wood and metal restaurant chairs come with a variety of options when it comes to the back rest. There are the traditional solid backs available in varieties of timber such as cherry and mahogany. You may prefer the smaller kidney shaped backs, or perhaps more decorative backs.
Seat options range from the standard wooden seat to a range of fabrics and vinyls. You can almost always find a fabric or vinyl to match the general decor of your restaurant. One thing you do need to be aware of is the height of the chairs. The seat height is generally a standard 18″, however, overall height can be from 32″ upwards.
Restaurant chairs need not be tacky, even when choosing basic materials. Wood and metal restaurant chairs can be classy, comfortable and long wearing and come in a variety of coverings that will suit most restaurants.
