One of the downsides to running a restaurant is keeping everything clean. By clean, we mean really clean. Health standards are such that every stick of furniture has to be spotless or the consequences can be rather costly. If your restaurant chairs design is all metal, you will find that keeping them clean is not that difficult.
Metal chairs tend to take a lot more punishment when it comes to cleaning and cleaning products. You can even take a scourer or steam cleaner to many metal chairs with no harm to the finish - all you see is bright gleaming metal.
Timber chairs are often more attractive to the eye, depending on the surroundings, but can be difficult to keep 100% of the time. Scourers can cause considerable damage through scratching whilst steam cleaning can cause the timber to swell if it hasn’t been sealed properly.
Having said that, timber chairs can look better. Of course, that does depend on the setting. In modern restaurants, metal chairs fit in well whilst many of the timber versions are the ones that look out of place. Calling a metal chair “all metal” is a misnomer as well since these chairs do have padded seats. Some all-metal restaurant chair designs also feature padded back rests as well.
Although these chairs are padded, they are still considerably easier to clean than those with a timber finish. The padding seat is normally upholstered using vinyl, a product that is also easy to clean. For contemporary restaurants, include all metal chairs in your plans - they are easy to clean and easy to maintain.
