Restaurant Chair Design: How Chairs Help to Create Atmosphere

January 9th, 2008 · No Comments

contemporary restaurant chairWhat type of restaurant would you expect to see this chair in?

  1. Traditional French bistro
  2. Fine dining restaurant specializing in multi-course meals
  3. Modern but casual

Obviously, this contemporary beechwood side chair would look best in a modern style restaurant. It’s look doesn’t scream bistro or fine dining; it’s classy, but it would look out of place.

That’s why restaurant chair design is such an important consideration when you’re looking to create atmosphere in your dining room: some chairs are going to be a more natural fit than others. The style of chair that you choose will have as much of an impact on your restaurant as the color of the walls, the food on the menus and even the art and accent pieces that you use to complete the look.

Atmosphere is important. It gets diners hooked before they even sit down - and they notice things that are somehow “off,” those things that just aren’t right. Take the time to think about the style of chair that you want to have and the look that you’re hoping to create; consider more than one option. You’ll know when you’ve found the right style.
