There is no doubt we have our own style when it comes to restaurant chairs design. However, there is still a strong European influence with many chairs being designed and manufactured in Europe and shipped here for final assembly. What sets most European-made chairs apart from those manufactured in Asia is the European attention to detail and quality.
I am not suggesting that Asian-made furniture is poor quality, by the way. They are improving continuously and the quality coming out of Asia is now very good. European furniture, and restaurant chairs are a good example, have additional benefits such as mortise and tenon joints and metal reinforcements.
Mortise and tenon joints are one of the most stable and long-wearing methods of joining timber. They just add extra time to the manufacturing of any product. Metal reinforcements again add time to the construction cost and where most furnishing could get by without them, they do add extra strength to furniture like chairs.
European made restaurant chairs generally last a little longer than many other chairs. Whilst functional in design, there is also an added elegance to their furniture. You can always pick furniture that has been influenced by European design - something that should be at the back of your mind since your customers will also recognize them.
A restaurant that has a predominance of European influence in their restaurant chairs design sends a message of style, elegance and quality. If that is the message you want to deliver to your patrons then consider restaurant chairs with a European design influence.
