A Restaurant Chair Design Should Be Comfortable for Diners

January 11th, 2008 · No Comments

Think that restaurant furniture doesn’t matter as long as you’ve got great food? Think again.

While reading a great review of the Guild Restaurant in San Diego and looking through replies, this one stuck out: “I quite like the food here as well but I think the furniture is very harsh. Interesting but not comfortable. Unfortunately it gets in my way of enjoying the food.”

If you’re thinking about purchasing restaurant chairs, that comment is something that you should definitely be keeping in mind - because ultimately, when you choose the wrong chairs (or tables or booths) for your restaurant, it will be a distraction.

Therefore, make sure that you are:

  • choosing chairs that fit with the decor and mood that you want to establish
  • picking furniture for your restaurant means selecting what looks great and is comfortable
  • thinking about comfort so that your patrons won’t have to.

That last suggestion sums things up well: if you focus on the comfort of those who come into your restaurant, those who come in will be able to focus on the food.
