Choosing Booth Design for Your Restaurant

January 2nd, 2008 · No Comments

Chef and kitchen staff? You’re working on it. Menu? Check. Location? Check. Seating?

The way that restaurant owners choose the seating for their restaurants is fairly personal. Some people make the choice based on the space they have. Some people focus on maximizing the number of people who get to sit by the window. Some people choose what they’re comfortable with - chairs or booths.

When you choose booths for your restaurant furniture, you’re going to want to make sure that you’re choosing a design style that fits the image you have for your establishment.

Standard restaurant booths, for example, work really well in restaurants where convenience is really important. Pizza shops and lunch sites where customers aren’t necessarily going to be staying for a long while or where people bring kids, would do well with standard booths, but they might seem out of place in a more upscale establishment. Fan-shaped, wood paneled booths, on the other hand, are going to fit into some restaurants but will be completely out of place in a diner.

In other words, the first step that you’ll want to take is to get a sense for the “feel” of your restaurant and then look at the booths that are going to help create it. And, of course, if you’re thinking that your restaurant is too “high end” for booths, think again! You’re likely to find that there’s something for everyone - maybe even more than you’d thought there would be.
