Providing outdoor furniture that your diners can relax in has one big drawback to restaurant owners and that is table turnover. By its very nature, outdoor dining is relaxed leisurely dining. This means that tables don’t turn over as often as they do inside and this then leads to a lower cash turnover. There is little you can do to speed things up - outdoor dining is casual.

Since your diners will be there a while, you need to ensure they are going to be comfortable. If they feel uncomfortable then the chances are they won’t return next time. They are going to come and eat in your restaurant because it is comfortable, the food is good, and the general atmosphere is one of relaxation and unrushed dining - if it isn’t, it should be.
