Outdoor dining is generally done at a slower pace than indoor dining. I am not sure why - perhaps being outdoors creates an air of relaxed casual dining with no pressure to move on. Outdoor furniture of course plays a big role as well. If the outdoor furniture promotes that relaxed and casual atmosphere then your patrons will find themselves under its spell.
Some outdoor furniture is more casual than others. This Adirondack chair is very relaxed and very comfortable (and a bargain price too). Made from hard resin, it is resistant to scratching, chipping or sun damage - perfect for commercial use.
Being able to sit back and enjoy a quiet drink after a meal is normally a luxury. Most restaurant chairs have stiff backs - there is no way you can sit back and relax in them. That of course is where inside and outside differ and why inside dining has that formal eat, drink and leave feel about. We all still enjoy eating inside - they both have their uses and if the weather outside is fine, why not enjoy it?
Do you incorporate an outdoor dining area in your restaurant? If so, consider making it a more relaxed environment by using outdoor furniture that promotes that feeling. Soft colors, chairs with armrests and sloping backs, and tables that are easy to eat at.
Outdoor dining is very popular from late spring to early fall in most areas although some of the southern states enjoy year round outdoor dining. Select the right outdoor furniture for your restaurant and your customers will keep coming back for more.
