Restaurant tables design can include table top finishes from a wide variety of materials. When selecting tables, that finish can be highly important to the overall look of your restaurant. Is a glass top the look you want? Or good old wood? You could use a tablecloth or go for a vinyl or laminate.
A popular choice these days is distressing metal, such as copper. Table tops are made of a metal like material that is distressed giving it a contemporary more upscale look.
Wood finishes have been popular for decades providing a good clean surface that is fairly easy to maintain. The advantage of natural wood finish is their ability to blend into most decors with little in the way of extras.
Popular in the nineties were the glass finish tops, with their ease of cleaning. However their tendency to break when tables tipped or hot materials touched them, made them a less popular choice as time went on. Glass does have the advantage of allowing the natural timber finish to show through whilst protecting it from scratches and marks.
Laminates come in a wide variety of finishes. Laminates are less popular these days, however still used in many cafes and restaurants with booths. Booth seating is less formal and laminate lends itself well to that style, giving the restaurant a “home like” feel.
Selecting the finish for your restaurant tables design can be important to the overall look and feel of your restaurant. Even if you choose to add tablecloths to your décor, it is still important to choose something coordinating underneath. You may think your customers won’t notice, but don’t be fooled, patrons still know what is under the tablecloth.
