New Trends in Restaurant Furniture: Is Modern Style Always a Good Idea?

February 18th, 2008 · No Comments

When it comes to trends in restaurant furniture, many who are looking for the right look and feel for their restaurant dining room grab on to the idea that modern styles are going to be best. For some it works out well, for others, well, the look gets a little bit distracting:

(source)I like City House a lot, and you’re right in saying that it is in reality more authentically Italian in terms of the cuisine. But you have to admit that it does not “feel” one bit like an Italian restaurant. It’s all stainless steel, modern furniture, and acid jazz.

Now, is that to say that you shouldn’t follow the trends at all? Is it to say that your restaurant furniture absolutely must be a good fit with your menu and music? Of course not, however, it’s to say that it’s important to look at how others will respond when they see your dining room.

Keep in mind, the best trend in choosing restaurant furniture isn’t the newest trend: instead, it’s a matter of finding the right look - the right tables, chairs and booths - a look that won’t distract any of those who come to your restaurant for a great meal.
