Keeping It Simple Is The New Trend In Restaurant Furniture

January 4th, 2010 · 2 Comments

It’s hard to find information on new trends in restaurant furniture as the industry is in a period of rebuilding and testing the waters. What is becoming evident is that, while we are slowly returning to restaurant dining, we are still aware of the cost. Diners are reluctant to spend up big, or even visit restaurants where the impression is that it’s going to cost a lot.

To quote one industry source:

Keep it simple! Forgo the finery for now. Keep ambiance, service, and menu items simple and comfortable. Hotels can lose some of the in-room amenities; restaurants take a more casual approach with less white linen, simpler tableware and less decoration. Less is more, but choose wisely.

This is, in a way, good news for restaurant owners. Rather than trying to win patronage by dressing up your restaurants with lavish decor, expensive restaurant furniture and flash menus, keep it all simple and make dining an enjoyable experience - including the wallet at the end of the meal.

We are returning to restaurants but we are still cautious in the way we spend our money. You can follow that trend. Restaurant furniture that is functional is more important than furniture that looks ritzy. Furniture that provides flexibility in the way it can be laid out is also important.

It’s not rocket science - keep it simple and you can keep your costs down. If you can keep your costs down you can offer menu prices that are reasonable and within most people’s budgets. That is the latest new trend in restaurant furniture - keeping it simple, comfortable and affordable - and that is where the Seating Expert can help. We provide the industry with affordable restaurant furniture that is comfortable, functional and, if necessary, flexible.

You have provided some great info here. I am a freelance writer and I am working on an article for a pub industry publication on ‘trends in pub patios for 2010.’ May I quote you?? I am having difficulty finding any info on this topic! Please response ASAP.
