Bar Stools and Other Trends in Restaurant Furniture

January 5th, 2008 · No Comments

It seems to be an increasingly popular option for smaller restaurants: using tall tables and bar stools in crowded spaces. More often than not, this is something that happens where some customers are going to be in a bit of a hurry: at popular city lunch spots, not only is there a seated dining room and a line for those folks who just want to be able to grab takeout and go, there are a few tables for those who don’t want to take their sandwich or meal back to the office - tables that are higher and that feature bar stools as another spot to stop and eat.

It happens a lot in airport restaurants too - both within the food court areas that end up lined with a few tables designed to be more convenient and business traveler friendly and within more individualized setups. There’s a lot more seating at the bar and there are high tables with bar stools (and plenty of room for passengers to roll up their carry-ons) for those passengers who don’t want to sit down at the bar but who don’t want table service because there’s a wait or their flight is going to be boarding soon.

The trend towards utilizing more bar stools is a practical one: it’s a great way of catering to more customers. Because of this, there are an increasing number of bar stool designs and materials available. Not just swivel or stationary, restaurant owners now have the options of backed and backless, wooden or metal, with or without arms, solid wood or upholstered seats - and Seating Expert has them all.
