Bar furniture, like a lot of commercially used furniture, doesn’t last forever. Being at the cheaper end of the scale, it also often the least thought of when it comes to replacements. In fact, there are many restaurant and bar owners who attempt to repair items when they start to show their age.
This raises a question - is it better to have your bar furniture restored, repaired, or should you just buy replacements? It is a good question since we live in a world in which cost alone is no longer a factor.
There are many people now who believe in a principle of recycling or reusing as much as possible in our society. This philosophy is now creeping into the business world. With your bar furniture, do you recycle it, reuse it or replace it?
Repairing is not always an easy option. Bar stools, for example, can be purchased for less than $100 - some as low as $60. The cost of professionally repairing a bar stool could be higher than the cost of buying a replacement. The alternative is to repair it yourself. However, if your repair is not perfect and a customer is injured - will your insurance pay out?
This leaves reusing or recycling. Let’s face it, you’re a busy business person. Do you really have time to work out how to reuse or recycle your bar furniture? Probably not. There are many people around who can however.
The easiest, cheapest, and often most environmentally friendly option is to purchase replacement bar furniture. Your old bar furniture can be sold off or donated to charities. Charitable organizations have become experts reusing and recycling second hand goods - restaurant and bar furniture included.
